Medair, , is a non-governmental organisation (NGO), with international headquarters in Switzerland that responds to human suffering in emergency and disaster situations by implementing multisectorial relief and rehabilitation projects. Medair is implementing a health, nutrition, sanitation and hygiene/health education programme for vulnerable populations in and around Burao town,South Togdher and parts of Sool Region.Medair is looking for A Health Facility Supervisor, to be based in Burao, Togdheer Region, with frequent field travels to sites in and around Togdheer and Sool regions.

Position    Responsibilities    Qualifications

Health Facility Supervisor.

1 Position       
    Conduct supervision visits to the Health Facilities (HF) providing on the job training and supportive supervision to improve quality of diagnosis and treatment.
    Conduct monthly joint supervision visits in collaboration with the Health Facilty Manager (HFM) and regional MoH staff
    Plan and facilitate training in consultation with HFM for HF staff and ensure quality health education and services in line with National and International Guidelines occur.
    Supervise all staff working at the Medair supported facilities from both a clinical/technical and operational perspective, including implementing disciplinary procedures where necessary, in conjunction with the HFM and MoH.
    Organise and facilitate bi-monthly meeting with Village Health Committees
    Plan, check and organize medicine supply to HF according to needs and in a timely manner to avoid stock outs.  
    Act as link between Medair and HF staff, regional and national MoH staff, local authorities, village committees and the community at large.    Essential     Desirable
            2 year minimum experience in nursing or midwifery.
    Diploma in nursing.
    Fluent in Somali, both written and oral
    Excellent English skills, both written and oral
    Competent in Microsoft office (in particular with Word and Excel, internet, and email writing).
    Work with minimum supervision and sometimes on extra hours without overtime allowance.
    Good planning skills.        A degree in nursing
    Knowledge in community development and public health
    Nurse tutor experience
    Similar experience in HF supervision
    Good general management skills.
    Knowledge in use of emails.
    Microsoft Power Point.
    Live and work in an insecure region.
